This book has been prepared to provide the design principles for the processes required to reduce air pollution-causing emissions, as well as sample designs with solved problems to help readers understand the solution strategies.
The book focuses deeply into the problems that must be considered while selecting designing, and operating cyclones, wet scrubbers, bag filters, and electrostatic filters for partıculate matter capture.
The basic principles of physical processes such as absorption, adsorption, and membranes, as well as chemical processes used in the treatment of hazardous components in flue gases, are presented, along with sample designs for these processes' capture and control strategies for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, and carbon dioxide.
It was pointed out that carbon dioxide, which causes global warming, is easily captured and would be an important chemical material in the future. It was also stated that algae, particularly those generated using carbon dioxide, will play an essential role in future food, medicine, and biodiesel production.
As a result, the book has been intended to be a helpful tool for students, and engineers interested in environmental pollution prevention.
