During the Persian adventure from east to west, the people of Anatolia live for 200 years under the tolerant jurisdiction of an empire with a culture and belief system distinctly foreign to them, nevertheless one that ruled based on an ideology of tolerance for 200 years. Many new customs and practices are introduced into Anatolia with the Persians – Zoroastrianism, satrapal governance, the Royal Road, and the first postal service, to name a few – which synthesizes with the local cultural elements. This volume aims to shed a light on the process that culminated in this unique cultural fusion, as well as at all the regions and peoples that contributed to its creation. It is a rigorous “first step” towards the ultimate goal...
