The Social Contract

""In the annals of human intellectual history, there exist seminal works that have left an indelible mark on the course of our civilization. These works, wielding immense influence, have played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of humanity. It is within the crucible of these profound literary and philosophical creations that the seeds of modernity, as we know it today, were sown during the epoch of the New Age.
The ripple effects of this modernization have been keenly felt in European societies, where they have wrought transformative change. Yet, the reverberations of these epochal developments have transcended continental boundaries, leaving an indomitable imprint on societies far beyond Europe's shores.
These timeless works, with their universal resonance, continue to captivate the collective imagination of societies worldwide. It is a testament to their enduring relevance that a majority of these intellectual treasures have found their way into the rich tapestry of the Turkish language, thanks to the dedicated efforts of translators and scholars.
With an unwavering commitment to intellectual enlightenment and cross-cultural exchange, Net Kitaplık Publications has meticulously curated a selection of these seminal works and crafted an English-language series. We are proud to present the Selected Classical Intellectual Work Series by Net Kitaplık—a collection that, we believe, will make an invaluable contribution to the deeper comprehension of the tapestry of modern thought.
