Comparison of the Basic Content of the Qur’an and the Bible – Naif Yaşar – Araştırma Yayınları

One of Khoury's many works related to Islam is his Qur'an commentary titled Der Koran: Arabisch-Deutsch Übersetzung und Wissenschaftlicher Kommentar. In this commentary, Khoury interprets the Qur'an from the beginning to the end. Although many studies have been carried out on the Qur'an by non-Muslims, to our knowledge, there is no work that interprets it from the beginning to the end, except for Khoury's commentary. For this reason, we will handle the relevant commentary specifically in the context of the "surah al-Baqarah." One of the most important reasons for examining this commentary is its intense focus on common themes of the Qur'an and the Bible. In this study, we will attempt to concretise the similarities between the two sources by examining the relevant verses themselves, rather than just providing verse numbers, as Khoury has done while comparing the two sources. Thus, we aim to make the common themes of the Qur'an and the Bible even more visible.
